Assalam o Alleyykum

[Peace be Upon You]

Duty and Responsibility is an ‘Honour’ which is tied with ‘Rights’ to be discharged as per the Guidance of Allah amicably.

Brothers and Sisters! Mankind has been sent in this world for a test. Test is that if he encounter Naffas (Psyche) and Shaitanwhen they will inspire him to oppose the Guidance of Allah.

Brothers and Sisters! Allah is Aleem (Knower of everything). Being Aleem Allah Knew that mankind will digress from Right Path where He (SWT) will have to commission Anbiyya e Karam (Prophets) to convey Message of Allah to revert to Right Path. This aspect has revealed in the Qur’an:

Surah Al Mo’minun Verse no 44

Then We sent Our Messengers in succession. Every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him; so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadith (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not.

Brothers and Sisters! To be Nabi of Allah is the highest Honour. Therefore they are warned by Allah that they have to convey His (SWT) Message in intact form. This has been revealed in the Qur’an:

Surah Al Ma’idah Verse no. 67

O Messenger (Mohammed (SAW))! Proclaim (convey the Message) which has been sent down to you from your Lord. And if you do not, then you have not conveyed His Message.

Allah will protect you from mankind. Verily, Allah guides not the people who disbelieve.

Brothers and Sisters! In short, Anbiyya e Karam are role model for their followers to come until the Day of Resurrection so they have to control their Naffas and encounter the attack of Shaitan every moment of their lives.

Brothers and Sisters! Anbiyya e Karam are innocent i.e. free from any sin or any shortcoming. This has revealed in Qur’an:

Surah Yunus Verse no. 16

Say (O Mohammed (SAW)): “If Allah had so willed, I should not have recited it to you nor would he have made it known to you.

Verily, I have stayed among you a life time before this. Have you then no sense?”

Brothers and Sisters! Anbiyya e Karam had to confront with the digressed people who would do anything not to listen to the Message of Allah so Anbiyya e Karam has to be patient, methodical and try to present the Message of Allah with reasons.

Surah Al Baqrah Verse No. 214

Or think you that you will enter Paradise without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They were afflicted with severe poverty and ailments and were so shaken that even the Prophet and those who believed along with him said: when (will come) the Help of Allah?” Yes! Certainly, the Help of Allah is near.

Brothers and Sisters! Anbiyya must not get dishearten when the digressed people will not listen as their responsibility is to convey the Message of Allah and they are not responsible that the digressed people must revert to Allah. This aspect has revealed in the Qur’an:

Surah Al Baqrah Verse no. 272

Not upon you (Mohammad (SAW)) is their guidance, but Allah guides whom He wills.

Brothers and Sisters! However, Anbiyya e Karam are required to develop concern for the welfare of the mankindthat they are saved from fires of Hell. This aspect has revealed in the Qur’an:

Surah Ash Shu’ara Verse no. 3

It may be that you (Mohammed (SAW)) are going to kill you with grief, that they do not become believers [in you Risalah (Messengership) i.e. in your Message of Islamic Monotheism].

Brothers and Sisters! Anbiyya e Karam are human beings. There is element of forgetfulness and misjudgment in their Fitrat (disposition) as well. Should they forget or misjudge they are immediately warned about it so that there is no reflection upon the Message of Allah. This aspect has revealed in Qur’an:

Surah Abasa Verse no. 1 – 16

The Prophet (SAW)) frowned and turned away. Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. Abdullah bin Maktum, who came to the Prophet (SAW) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish Chiefs).

And how can you know that he might become pure (from sins)? Or might receive admonition, and the admonition might profit him?

As for him who thinks himself self – sufficient, to whom you attend; what does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief: you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah).

But as to him who came to you running, and is afraid (of Allah and His punishment). Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, nay, (do not do like this): indeed it (this Qur’an) is an admonition. So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al – Lauh Al – Mahfuz)

Brother! The perspective of the Above Verses of the Qur’an is in the words of Molana Shabir Ahmad Usmani (RA):

The Holy Prophet (SAW) once was preaching Chiefs of Quraish about Deen e Islam. A blind Sahabi (RTU), Abdullah Ibne Maktum (RTU) came in and drew His (SAW) attention by asking:

Ya Rasool Allah! “How is that Verse? Teach me something about it what Allah has taught you.”

The Prophet (SAW) felt bit heavy at his untimely questioning. He (SAW) might have thought that He (SAW) is busy in preaching Chiefs of Quraish where if they appreciated and embraced Deen e Islam then the other people will follow their suit. So far as Abdullah Ibne Maktum is concerned, Alhamdulillah! He is a Muslim, he has many other chances to learn and understand.

As Abdullah Ibne Maktum was blind he could not see that Prophet (SAW) were preaching Chiefs of Quraish. Had he known this he would have waited to learn about Islam because he could also hope that if the chiefs of Quraish will embrace Islam thousands other will embrace Islam.

As Prophet (SAW) became rather indifferent to the question of blind Sahabi and this reflected on His (SAW) face, Allah revealed the above Verses as a warning not to be indifferent when somebody asks to learn about Islam

The narrations are that, thereafter, whenever Abdullah Ibne Maktum (RTU) used to come, the Prophet (SAW) welcomed him with an honour.

Surah Al Kahf Verse no. 23 – 24

And never say anything, “I shall do such and such thing tomorrow.” Except (with the saying), “Insha’allah (If Allah Wills)! And remember your Lord when you forget and say: “It may be that my Lord guides me unto a nearer way of truth than this.

Brothers and Sisters! Although Anbiyya e Karam are innocent but they are human beings and unknowingly and unconsciously they are influenced by Naffas and Shaitan, so they should keep repenting and begging forgiveness of Allah. This aspect has revealed in the Qur’an.

Surah An Nasr

When there comes the Help of Allah (to you, O Mohammed (SAW)) against your enemies) and the conquest (of Makkah)

And you see that the people enter Allah’s religion (Islam) in crowds.

So glorify the Praises of your Lord, and ask His forgiveness. Verily, He is the One who accepts and Who forgives.

Brothers and Sisters! As the digressed people will not listen to the Message of Allah, they may ask Anbiyya to make some concessions. Anbiyya are warned that there must not be any compromise. This aspect has revealed in the Qur’an:

Surah Al Kafirun

  • Say: (O Mohammed (SAW)) to these Mushrikun and Kafirun): “O Al-Kafirun (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, in His Angels, in His Books, In His Messengers, in the Day of Resurrection, and in Al-Qadar)!
  • “I worship not that which you worship,
  • Nor you worship that I worship
  • “Nor will you worship that which I worship
  • “And I shall not worship which you are worshipping
  • Nor will you worship that which I worship
  • “To you your religion, and to me my religion (Islamic Monotheism)

Brothers and Sisters! The perspective of the above Surah in the words of Molana Shabir Ahmad Usmani (RA):

  • Several Chiefs of the Quraish came to Prophet Mohammed (SA) and said:
  • O Mohammed (SAW)! Let us make a compromise that for one year you worship our gods, then for the next year we shall be worshipping your God. In this way both parties shall have some portions of one another’s religion.

  • The Prophet Mohammed (SAW) said:

“I seek shelter of Allah that I may associate anyone with Him (SWT) even for a moment.”

  • The Quraish said:

“Well, then recognise some of our gods (do not condemn them), we shall confirm you and worship your Allah.

         Observations:

  • At this point the present Surah was revealed. The Prophet (SAW) recited this Surah unto them in a gathering, the substance whereof is to express absolute detestation against the ways and manners of the Associators and to proclaim dissociation.
  • What! How can the Prophets agree to a compromise as unholy and so dirty? Their fundamental work is to cut down the roots of polytheism and association (Shirk), so they can never yield to a compromise of association, polytheism and idolatry
  • As a matter of fact no religionist denies the Divinity of Allah, even the Associators recognise this reality and said that they worshipped idols were the agents of Allah and they would definitely bring them near unto Allah if they worshipped and pleased those idols. The difference lies in the worship of other than Allah. The meaning of the form of compromise that was offered by Quraish clearly meant that the Unbelievers would adhere to their own way i.e. worship Allah and other than Allah, and the Prophet (SAW) should move from His (SAW) own stand of Divine Oneness. To finish this discourse this Surah was revealed.

Brothers and Sisters! This is a lesson to Muslim Ummah that there cannot be a compromise in the promotion of Islam.

Brothers and Sisters! As Anbiyya e Karam are commissioned for the welfare of mankind so they are required to keep making Dua’a to Allah to forgive digressed people so that they can revert to Him (SWT). This aspect has revealed in the Qur’an:

Surah An Nisa Verse no. 105 – 106]

Surely, We have sent down to you (O Mohammed (SAW)) the Book (this Qur’an) in truth that you might judge between men by that which Allah has shown you (i.e. has taught you through Divine Revelation), so be not pleader for treacherous.

And seek the Forgiveness of Allah, certainly, Allah is Ever Oft – Forgiving, Most Merciful.

CONCLUSION

Brothers and Sisters! The duties and responsibilities of Anbiyya e Karam as above are not only confined to Anbiyya e Karam only but their followers must also develop the above attributes because they are to be role model for the oncoming generations and it will be them who would tell them about the Guidance of Allah and they will be role model for them.

Brothers and Sisters! The chain of commissioning of Anbiyya e Karam has come to an end by Commissioning of Mohammed Ibne Abdullah (SAW). During the life of Khatim ul Anbiyya (SAW) the Muslims were trained and educated in the manner that they developed the above attributes and this is why the people reverted to Allah over 2.5 million square miles in the short period of 12 ½ years of Khilafat e Rashida.

Brothers and Sisters! Muslim Ummah who was assigned the responsibility of conveying the Message of Allah has digressed from the Right Path so the situation is even worse than 1400 years ago where:

  • use of intoxicantsis legalized and is not considered a sin
  • homosexuality and lesbianismhas been legalized and in many Western Countries same sex marriages can take place
  • gambling is in every corner
  • illicit intercourse is not considered as sin or crime provided both parties in agreement
  • in Western countries the word wife and spouse are replaced by word: partner
  • financial interest is part of every transaction
  • etc.

Brothers and Sisters! Whenever there is digression since Day One it is the Message of Allah which has eliminated the Axis of Evils. Unless and until the Guidance of Allah is applied in day to day life there will be no Peace and mankind will keep moving towards Hell.

Brothers and Sisters! Allah has revealed in the Qur’an that if Muslim Ummah will not perform its duty and responsibility then Allah will prepare another nation to convey His (SWT) Message.

Surah At Taubah Verse no. 39

If you march not forth, He (Allah) will punish you with painful torment and will replace you by another people; and you cannot harm Him (Allah) at all, Allah is able to do all things.

Brothers and Sisters! Alhamdu’lillah! Call for Peacehas been designed to convey the Message of Allah at international level. The object of Call for Peace is to extract the Islamic Values which have been inflicted in every human being’s heart and mind on Day One and make them realize that these are not universal value but Islamic Values inflicted in their Fitrat (disposition) by Allah on Day One and they have promised to follow. This aspect has revealed in Qur’an:

Translation Surah Al Ahzab Verse no 72

Truly, We did offer Al-Amanah (the trust or moral responsibility or honesty and all that the duties which Allah has ordained) to the heavens and the earth, and the mountains, but they declined to bear it and were afraid of it (i.e. afraid of Allah’s Torment). But man bore it. Verily, he was unjust (to himself) and ignorant (of its results).

Brothers and Sisters! Websites: www.cfpislam.co.uk, www.cfpibadaahs.co.uk, www.cfopolitics.co.uk, www.callforpeace.org.uk are open to whole of mankind both Muslims and Non Muslims. If Muslim Ummah does not want to revert to Allah then Allah will Toffeeq (help) to Non Muslims to enter in the circle of Islam and let them introduce, revive and promote Islam.

May Allah be with You

Wass’a’lam
