Books of Allah

Brothers and Sisters!

Assalam o Alleyykum

[Peace be Upon You]

Bookstores ILM (Knowledge). Therefore, any device which stores ILM is a Book. For example: paper book , central processing unit, tablets and human brainetc.etc. ILM can be saved by printing it on the paper, saving on the hard disc or saving in the brain. Brothers and Sisters! In fact ‘brain’is the ‘master’ book because every ILM which is written on the paper, processed in the CPU and otherwise comes from mind .

Brothers and Sisters! Books of Allah mean the Guidance of Allah which used to be revealed to Anbiyya e Karam (Prophets) through Angels. When the Guidance of Allah was revealed then Anbiyya e Karam used to have the revelation ascribed on paper which eventually constituted Book of Allah.

Brothers and Sisters! As per narrations there have been, more or less, 124,000 Anbiyya e Karam commissioned in this world. As there had been revelations to every Prophet, so theoretically there should be 124,000 Books of Allah. But there is mention of only four books in the Qur’an:

Taurat (Torah)

Injeel (Bible)

Zabur

Qur’an

Brothers and Sisters! Theoretically, Qur’an is the Last Book of Allah. So it should have mentioned the names of all the Anbiyya e Karam but the names of Anbiyya e Karam mentioned in the Qur’an are not more than 25.

Brothers and Sisters! Under the light of Qur’an and Hadith Qur’an was ascribed on Day One on the Tablets and preserved. This fact has revealed in the Qur’an:

Translation Surah Al Buruj Verse no. 21 – 22

Nay! This is Glorious Qur’an.

(Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (The preserved Tablet)

Brothers and Sisters! Question emerges in mind that how come Qur’ancould have been ascribed when even the universe was not created, angels were not created i.e. there was only Lone Entity of Allah.

Brothers and Sisters! Allah is Aleem. Aleem means the one who has knowledge of everything in the universe, properties of every creation, effect and impact of every property.

Brothers and Sisters! Question emerges in mind that it is agreed that Aleem means the one who has knowledge of every creation of the universe and properties of every creation but when the universe was not created how come Allah Knew the properties of every creation and their effect and impact.

Brothers and Sisters! Allah is Ale mul Ghaib (Knower of Unseen).

Brothers and Sisters! By the attribute of being Ale mul Ghaib Allah Knew what is going to happen in the future as He (SWT) will be the Creator Himself (SWT).

Brothers and Sisters! As evidence Allah visualized everything what will happen in the future to come and the first thing which was created was Qalam(Pen) and then Allah Commanded the Pen to ascribe everything what will happen in the future.

Brothers and Sisters! Therefore, whatever has been ascribed is Word of Allah. The written text is named as Qur’an.

Brothers and Sisters! Although the text of Qur’an is limited but the properties of every word i.e. the meanings of each word are unlimited. Brothers and Sisters! Let us try to understand this aspect with and example.

Brothers and Sisters! When a seed is sownin a fertile land and is wateredregularly and environments let it grow where initially the stem emerges, thereafter branches, leaves, flowers, fruits emerge and every leave, flower and fruit has countless seeds in them and when those are sown then every seed flourishes like the first seed and this process goes on and on and on.

Brothers and Sisters! Similarly when the meanings of one Word of Qur’an are explored then the meaning of every word is like a seed and the rays of ILM keep emerging and emerging and emerging. In other words there is no limit to the properties of the text of Qur’an. As Qur’an is Word of Allah so it is revealed in the Qur’an that if all the oceans become ink, all trees become pens and all the heavens and earth become paper the properties of Word of Allah will not diminish:

Translation Surah Luqman Verse no. 26 -27

To Allah belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth. Verily, Allah, he is Al – Ghani (rich, Free of all needs), worthy of all Praises.

And if all the trees on the earth were pens and the sea (were ink wherewith to write), with seven seas behind it to add its (supply), yet the Words of Allah would not be exhausted. Verily, Allah is All – Mighty, All Wise.

Brothers and Sisters! In short, Qur’an is Word of Allah. Word of Allah is ILM (Knowledge). Therefore, Qur’an likewise Allah is Immortal as ILM originates from Qur’an and Qur’an is Word of Allah.

Brothers and Sisters! Question will emerge in mind that if Qur’an is Word of Allah and is termed as Book of Allah then what is the origin of other Books of Allah:

Taurat (Torah)

Injeel (Bible)

Zabur

Brothers and Sisters! Qur’an is Book of Guidance for mankind’s day to day life as well. Therefore, the Guidance of day to day life was extracted from Qur’an in accordance of the age and revealed to the Anbiyya e Karam (Prophets).

Brothers and Sisters! Mankind has been sent in this world for a test. Therefore, there was no preservation of the text of Taurat, Injeel and Zabur as Allah Knew being Aleem and Ale mul Ghaib that selfish people will make changes in the Books of Allah to satisfy their Sensual Appetite. This aspect has been revealed in the Qur’an:

Translation Surah Al Baqrah Verse No 79

Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands and then say, “This is from Allah”, to purchase with it a little price! (to satisfy Sensual Appetite) Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn by.

Brothers and Sisters! Allah has created mankind so it has a beginning and every beginning has an end. This world has been created and this has an end.

Brothers and Sisters! Allah being Aleem and Ale mul Ghaib knew that mankind will digress from the Right Path so Allah used to commission Anbiyya e Karam so that they could repent and revert to Allah.

Brothers and Sisters! As this world has to end, similarly the chain of Anbiyya e Karam had to end. In short the Last Prophet commissioned is Mohammed Ibne Abdullah (SAW). As Qur’an is Word of Allah and comprehensive in every respect so Qur’an has been revealed to Khatim ul Anbiyya (SAW) over the period of 23 years. Why Qur’an has been revealed over 23 years it is separate subject and Insha’allah article will be written on this subject.

Brothers and Sisters! The proof that Qur’an is comprehensive Book in every respect the name of Mohammed Ibne Abdullah (SAW) is written on top of the list of Law Givers, being Greatest Law Giver at Lincoln’s Inn in London. Non Muslims do not believe Mohammed Ibne Abdullah (SAW) as Prophet of Allah. However, they formed opinion that Qur’an has been composed by Mohammed Ibne Abdullah (SAW).

Brothers and Sisters! Other Books of Allah mentioned in the Qur’an are:

Taurat (Torah) was revealed upon Hazrat Musa (Moses) (PBUH)

Injeel (Bible) was revealed upon Hazrat Esa’a (Jesus) (PBUH)
Zabur was revealed upon Hazrat Daued (David) (PBUH).

Brothers and Sisters! In their original form the above books must have contained the guidance in respect of honesty, integrity and morality which are the key factors to be successful in this world and life hereafter. But as there have been changes and adaptations in the text and meaning of these books so these books have lost the status of Books of Allah and this is why these have been cancelled. Brothers and Sisters! What is represented by these books in their present form, it is separate issue and Insha’allah article shall be written as to why these books have lost the status of Books of Allah and why these had to be cancelled.

CONCLUSION

Brothers and Sisters! Allah is Lone Entity. Qur’an is Word of Allah. Qur’an is Guidance for every aspect of life. What role Word of Allah will play in the life hereafter remains to be seen. Every human being has to taste ‘death’ where the plane of death will take us in the life hereafter to see what role Word of Allah will play in the life hereafter. So let us prepare for the life hereafter.
