Naffas and Shaitan

Brothers and Sisters!     

Assalam o Alleyykum

    [Peace be Upon You]

Hindrance, obstacle, stoppage are hurdles in successes . In other words anything which hinders success is an enemy.

Brothers and Sisters! The connotation of Hadith e Qudsi is where Allah told Khatim ul Anbiyya Mohammed Ibne Abdullah  (SAW):

I was hidden Treasure.

I wished to be recognised.

So I created Jinn and Inss.

Brothers and Sisters! The Scholars have deduced from ‘hidden treasure’ that Allah had enormous powers which He (SWT) wanted to expose but as He (SWT) was Lone Entity so there was no one to expose to who could enjoy the Bounties of Allah which no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no mind can imagine.

Brothers and Sisters! In short, Allah created Hazrat Adam (PBUH) and Hazrat Haw’wa (RTU) and asked them to go and live in Paradise and enjoy His (SWT) Bounties.

Brothers and Sisters! However, enjoyment is not complete unless and until there is a hindrance which has to be crossed. For example: if children and parents are not separated and they are always together then, it is natural phenomenon, that there is no enjoyment. But when they see each other after separation and meet then they feel the emergence of love and affection and embrace each other whole heartedly and enjoy each other’s company. Brothers and Sisters! When children go to school and come home after few hours then mother and children give hug  to each other. But when it is holiday then there is no hug and life moves on just like when one is driving on motorway and there are no cars ahead.

Brothers and Sisters! When Allah created mankind and wanted mankind to enjoy Bounties of Allah, Allah advised mankind that success lies in following His (SWT) Guidance. Therefore, Allah created Naffas which will have to be suppressed to follow the Guidance of Allah.

Brothers and Sisters! Allah grew a tree in the Paradise and asked Hazrat Adam (PBUH) and Hazrat Haw’wa (RTU) that they can go anywhere in Paradise they liked and eat anything they liked but Commanded them not to go near the specific tree.

Brothers and Sisters! As Hazrat Adam (PBUH) and Hazrat Haw’wa (RTU) were forbidden to go near the specific tree, so they had to suppress their Naffas. In other words Naffas became enemy as it will inspire not to follow the Command of Allah.

Brothers and Sisters! There was element of curiosity in Naffas of mankind which would inspire Naffas to know about the hidden treasure in particular command and property. So it was natural that this curiosity element was inspiring Hazrat Adam (PBUH) and Hazrat Haw’wa (RTU) to know why Allah has forbidden going even near the specific tree. However, they were obedient to Allah so they kept on suppressing the demand of Naffas.

Brothers and Sisters! Although Allah accepted the repentance of Hazrat Adam (PBUH) and Hazrat Haw’wa (RTU) but for further test that they and their offspring will keep following the Guidance of Allah, Allah devised Deen e Islam, Way to Paradise, and advised them that should they follow His (SWT) Guidance in the world then the plane of death will bring them back to Paradise where they can live forever and enjoy Bounties of Allah which eye has seen, no ear has heard and no mind can imagine.

Brothers and Sisters! In other words, Paradise is homeland for mankind where after creation of Hazrat Adam (PBUH) and Hazrat Haw’wa (RTU) were asked to go and live.

Surah Al A’raf Ayat no. 19

بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم

“And O Adam! Dwell you and your wife in Paradise, and eat thereof as you both wish,

Brothers and Sisters! But because of their disobedience they were sent on earth with a piece of advice that they can come back to their homeland provided they follow the Guidance of Allah.

Translation Surah Al Baqrah Ayat no. 38

بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم

We said: “Get down all of your from this place (the Paradise), then whenever there comes to you Guidance from Me (Allah) and whoever follows My Guidance, there shall be no fear on them, nor shall they grieve (they will come back in Paradise).

CONCLUSION

Brothers and Sisters! The life in this world is limited. But the life hereafter is unlimited. So no ratio can be established between limited and unlimited.

Brothers and Sisters! Let us look the life in this world and life hereafter with a different angle.

Brothers and Sisters! In this world there are three tenses: past, present, future.

Brothers and Sisters! Every present moment become past and every oncoming moment is future. So the present does not last more than a moment. Therefore, the enjoyment sought by Naffas by opposing Guidance of Allah is temporary and diminishes due to the law of diminishing return. For example: chocolate and ice crème are favourite of, more or less, everyone. So when on start eating every forthcoming bite will become less enjoyable and then there will be time that one will get fed up and will not eat any more. Why the law of diminishing return will apply because the life of this world is limited and its duration consists of past, present and future.

Brothers and Sisters! But the life hereafter is forever. Forever means there is no past and no future and it is all present. As the life hereafter is forever, so there is no law of diminishing return. Rather there is law of increasing return where one will enjoy the forthcoming bite better than the previous one.

Brothers and Sisters! So why not keep on defeating Naffas and Shaitan who are enemies and look forward to return to Paradise where you will be keep on enjoying the Bounties of Allah forever which no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no mind can imagine.
